Colmore Youngtimer Touring Car Challenge
“Smile, it makes you faster”
Beautiful people, beautiful cars from a great race era, close and fair racing, open paddock for the public and lots of laughter with each other. You will find all of these in the COLMORE Youngtimer Touring Car Challenge.
“We are here to entertain the fans, organisers, family and of course also ourselves”, says promoter YTCC Randall Lawson. “Racing is all about driving as fast as you can with your race car, having a lot of fun on the track with other drivers and also enjoy and celebrate that you are privilege to do it in the paddock with your fellow competitors. Yes we are no championship, we are not making World Champions over here, we are nothing. Racing in the COLMORE YTCC is all about enjoying life with friends from all over the World. Competing against each other with a big smile on the face. Of course not letting the guy or girl in front of you winning the battle on the track but thats only because he or she then is paying the beer in the evening. And at the end that is where racing is all about.”
The COLMORE YTCC has proven to be the race series everybody wants to drive. And that can be done with Touring Cars, Sports Cars, Prototypes and even Le Mans and Imsa cars until 1990. A great race era where manufacturers tried their best to put the most beautiful and fastest race cars on the track. “Race cars from that period do not belong in a Museum or in the corner of a garage. They belong on the track where they were built for. And we don’t care if you are driving a Ford, Melkus, Jide, BMW, Lotus, Porsche, Trabant or a big block Corvette. As long as you have fun in it, drive it as fast as your talent can, than I’m ok with it”, says Lawson. “Of course we have regulations which the car must meet, but we are asking not for a FIA HTP pass or other official FIA papers. A great history on the car is always great and we have a lot of original cars who proven to be race winners from their past. If the owner knows which time period technical parts can be put on a car and which not than he is in our series in the right place. We are welcoming that kind of wishful thinking car owners with open arms. If competitors, family, fans are leaving at the end of the weekend the circuit with a big smile on their face than I know we did a great job.”
After the races in Hockenheim, Oscherleben and Red Bull Ring, Spa Summer Classic is the 4 th event on the 2023 calender. Other races will be held at Assen and Dijon.
