C\u2019est dire \u00e0 quel point le bolide frapp\u00e9 de l\u2019ovale bleu constitue l\u2019arme id\u00e9ale, voire absolue, pour revendiquer la gagne. Et si, il y a pr\u00e8s de douze mois, on d\u00e9nombrait 12 bolides de ce type au d\u00e9part, la liste des engag\u00e9s 2022 est riche de\u2026 19 GT40 ! Ce qui signifie que la lutte pour la victoire sera plus explosive que jamais. D\u2019autant que ces bolides seront tr\u00e8s bien dompt\u00e9s, avec un mix de sp\u00e9cialistes des courses historiques et de pilotes issus des comp\u00e9titions modernes. Deux Ford GT40 \u2018des plats pays\u2019 sont en effet bien arm\u00e9es pour cr\u00e9er la surprise, en l\u2019occurrence la #78 des Hollandais David Hart, Olivier Hart et Nicky Pastorelli, mais aussi la #4 des Belges Emile Breittmayer, Christophe Van Riet et Fred Bouvy ! Quant \u00e0 Eric van de Poele, il sera une nouvelle fois l\u2019\u00e9quipier de l\u2019Am\u00e9ricain Jim Farley, qu\u2019il n\u2019est plus besoin de pr\u00e9senter, au volant de la #98 !<\/p><p>Pour chasser les GT40, on compte traditionnellement sur les meilleures Jaguar E-Type. Sans doute un peu moins nombreuses cette ann\u00e9e, mais toujours tr\u00e8s performantes, \u00e0 commencer par les versions Lightweight et Semi-Lightweight de John Clark, Gordon Mutch et Alasdair McCaig d\u2019une part, William Paul et Rory Butcher de l\u2019autre. Jon Minshaw, Jack Minshaw et Phil Keen feront \u00e9galement confiance au c\u00e9l\u00e8bre f\u00e9lin.<\/p><p>G\u00e9niale cr\u00e9ation de Carroll Shelby, la Cobra tend par contre \u00e0 se g\u00e9n\u00e9raliser. Et avec des dompteurs tels que Christian Traber, Seb Perez, Armand Adriaans, mais aussi un certain Marc Duez aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s des autres Belges Jacques Castelein et Kurt Dujardyn, une surprise n\u2019est pas impossible. Deux versions \u2018Coup\u00e9 Daytona\u2019 seront au d\u00e9part, avec Olivier Muytjens et Brice Pineau d\u2019une part, David Smithies, Chris Clarkson et Mark Pangborn de l\u2019autre.<\/p><p>D\u2019un gabarit nettement plus ramass\u00e9, les Lotus Elan 26R sont totalement en mesure de bousculer les valeurs \u00e9tablies sur la distance.
